American Seniors Agree: Don’t Cut Medicare Advantage
Cuts to the Medicare Advantage (MA) program don’t just reduce funding — they jeopardize vision and dental coverage, cost protections, and access to high-quality doctors and specialists. For many seniors and their families, Medicare Advantage isn’t just a plan, it’s a lifeline. And they resoundingly want Congress to protect it.

The overwhelming majority of senior likely voters (82%) believe cuts to Medicare Advantage will have a NEGATIVE impact on seniors’ financial wellbeing.

Strong majorities of seniors across parties (71%) want their member of Congress to OPPOSE cutting funding for Medicare Advantage. 69% of seniors would be LESS likely to vote for a member who supports cuts.
Reality Check
A majority of senior likely voters believe the federal government should INCREASE funding (53%) for MA – not cut it (7%) – and most think MA should NOT be on the table at all when it comes to cutting federal funding (51%).
America’s Seniors Value Their Plans:
- Nearly all senior likely voters (93%) believe it is IMPORTANT for seniors to have a variety of Medicare plan options to meet their health needs.
- The vast majority of senior likely voters (83%) believe the additional benefits provided by MA plans are IMPORTANT to family members of seniors enrolled in MA plans.
